Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Weber State University
As a Latin Dj in Utah it is an honor when I get to participate in Hispanic Celebration events. I recently had the privilege to work with the Diversity and Inclusion Program at Weber State University, hosting the virtual closing celebration party of a week-long schedule highlighting Hispanic culture. My focus was to make this virtual party as lively as possible and ensure that even though we were separated by distance, everyone still felt connected. Because of the diverse, multicultural nature of this event, I was able to rely on my large inventory of music to make sure I had current hits, classics, and even some nostalgic pieces included in my playlist. Some throwbacks for the night included a television novela theme song and a Spanish kids cartoon jingle that really sparked surprise and excitement.
Events in the times of Covid-19 may be a little different, but there is no reason they can’t still be fun! As a Latin DJ in Utah playing the best music in Spanish and English, I love finding new ways to challenge myself and make every event the best it can be. Weddings, quinceañeras, and even virtual college parties can all be successful and fun with the right partner DJ.
